Frequently Asked Questions

1) Who do I contact at Kingswood Academy if I would like my child to transfer from their current school?
    If you would like your child to attend Kingswood Academy you need to contact Miss A Drinkall at the academy via email at adrinkall@thekingswoodacademy,org or by telephone 879967 ext 235.

2) When is the next Parents Evening?
    Details of when these evenings are taking place are detailed on our website. Please go to the 'About Us' tab on our website and click on number 4. Alternatively, you can also go to the academy calendar on the website.

3) How will I know if my child is being held back at the end of the day for a detention?
    You will receive a text on the day of the detention (before 9.30am) to inform you that your child has a detention after school.  You can contact the academy if you need to know the exact reason for this detention.

4) What is the date of the next Open Evening for current Year 6 students?
     Our open evening will take place on Wednesday 20th September and families of Year 4, 5 and 6 parents are welcome to attend. You do not need to book but please arrive for either 5.30pm or 6.30pm.

5) Does the academy use a cashless system and parent pay?
     We do use a cashless system for our catering provision and payments to top up your child's card can be made via Parent Pay. If you have not received information regarding your child's Parent Pay account please contact Mrs C

6) How much is a school meal?
    The academy has an external catering provider which is ISS. The cost of a school meal is £2.20 which consists of a main meal and a dessert.

7) How do I know if my child is entitled to a Free School Meal?
    If you think your child is eligilble for a free school meal please contact Hull City Council on telephone 300300.

8) Where can I find a list of the term dates for this academic year?
     In order to find our term dates please go to the tab 'Term Dates' which runs across the bottom of our website.

9) How do I know if my child has been given any homework?
    We use a system called 'Show my Homework' and your child's homework will be uploaded to this system. You should have been provided with a parental login in order to use this system. If you do not know what your login is please contact       your child's Academic Mentor in the first instance.

10) What do I do if my child is ill?
      Absence due to illness will remain unauthorised until the academy has been informed.  This must be done via a visit, email or telephone call to the academy on each day of the illness before 8:30am
